MY FAVOURITE UK LOCATIONS FOR LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY

I have visited many different places around the UK and before every trip I do my research to find places that I want to shoot! I typically shoot long exposures by the sea at either sunrise or sunset, however some of my favourite locations have been on dry land!
TREBARWITH STRAND, CORNWALL
I had never heard of Trebarwith strand before I started to search for photography locations before our family holiday to Cornwall in 2017. Trebarwith Strand is pretty hidden away, but definitely one of the prettiest places I have visited in Cornwall! I took this image at sunrise as I had read that this was the best time to visit and I 100% agree. Talking about this location doesn't do it justice, but as they say a picture speaks a thousand words, so I will just leave the photo I took below for you to see for yourself!

GOLITHA FALLS, CORNWALL
Another Cornish locations because it really is my favourite place in the UK. I took this photo in the woods whilst looking for the waterfall Golitha Falls, so it was a pretty spontaneous shot, but they can sometimes be the best ones! It had been raining all day, which actually in this case worked in my favour, the rain and the fog made for a pretty cool atmosphere!

SNOWDONIA NATIONAL PARK, NORTH WALES
There is a photo opportunity literally around every corner here because Snowdonia National Park is so big!
Both of my favourite photos that I took (as seen below) were actually taken from the side of the road in two completely different locations. Whilst in Snowdonia I experienced both rain and shine, but I think the weather was just right on the days that these two photos were taken!

KIMMERIDGE BAY, DORSET
When looking for places to shoot in Dorset, I knew that Kimmeridge Bay would be perfect for long exposures because it is so rocky. I shot this image at sunset because of the direction we were facing, but you could really shoot at any time depending on your desired result. If you are going to shoot at sunrise or sunset, give yourself plenty of time because there is quite a walk down to where this was taken.

ASHDOWN FOREST, EAST SUSSEX
One of my favourite photos that I have ever taken was from here. For a while I had been looking for somewhere to do an early morning shoot to capture the mist amongst the trees from above. On the way back from a different shoot, I came across this location and it was the perfect spot. Of course there was no guarantee that it would be misty on the day, I just had to hope for the best, but luckily the odds were in my favour!

So, those are some of my favourite places that I've shot in the UK. All of the photos featured are actually available to purchase via my Etsy store (link below) should you be interested!
